Emergency dispatches at SF supportive housing
Official monthly address-level counts from the July 2, 2025 HSH–DEM response to Supervisor Matt Dorsey. January 2020–June 2025. Marker size shows recorded calls, not a proximity estimate.

Location review needed: 114 of 155 table rows have candidate matches to the existing mapped site list. The PDF names buildings but does not supply their full street addresses. Marker coordinates and displayed addresses come from the previous map, not the PDF. The remaining 41 sites are retained in the table without markers. This is a draft location layer, not verified DEM geocoding.

John Burton Housing’s “all incidents” row appears cumulative, despite the source table being labeled monthly. The printed values never decrease across 66 months: 80 in December 2023, 104 in December 2024, and 129 in May 2025. Our earlier version summed these entries as monthly counts, incorrectly producing 1,073 for 2024 and placing this building first.
The disputed row is now excluded from combined-incident rankings, map sizing, and aggregate totals. Its printed values are preserved for inspection and marked as disputed in downloads. Police, EMS, and fire figures remain separate. The 2024 combined total across the remaining 154 source rows is 31,511 recorded incidents. This excludes an unresolved building row and is not a corrected complete-portfolio total.
If the row is cumulative, its increases would be 24 during 2024 and 25 during January–May 2025; these are hypotheses, not verified replacement counts. No inferred monthly figures have been substituted. DEM confirmation is needed. John Burton was the only “all incidents” row with 16 or more numeric entries that never decreased in this check; that screen is not a full source-data audit.

Circle area scales with the selected count; minimum-size circles identify sites with zero or missing values. Teal = numeric entry in every selected month; amber = partial numeric coverage; gray = no numeric entries. Overlapping markers can be explored by zooming. These are calls, not unique people, arrests or confirmed crimes.

Source and interpretation
Open the official Board packet: letter and caveats PDF pages 41–44; all incidents 45–46; police 47–48; EMS 49–50; fire 51–52. The letter says 156 sites; each supplied table contains 155 rows. Each popup links to its category’s source page.
- Police, EMS and fire overlap. Use “All incidents” for the source’s unduplicated total; do not add service categories.
- Blank cells remain missing, not zero. Summed counts use numeric entries only; month coverage is displayed for every site. Blank months do not establish closure or absence of calls.
- 2025 is partial. June’s exact cutoff is not established by the tables; the original inquiry was made June 17. Use complete matching periods for comparisons.
- Current or maximum PSH units are shown for context, not historical occupancy. Mixed buildings can include calls involving non-PSH units. Raw counts are not adjusted for building size or resident needs.
- Names were matched by normalized name (100 sites) or reviewed name alias (14). Candidate matches, original mapped names and addresses are disclosed in popups and the CSV. No coordinates were inferred for unmatched names.
- Map locations represent buildings from a separate mapped inventory; they do not depict individual call coordinates, caller locations or residents.
